# Araskova Labs: Sovereign Malayalam AI, Kerala

> Sovereign Malayalam AI: the data, benchmarks and models Kerala runs on its own infrastructure.

Araskova Labs is a founder-owned deep tech research lab in Kerala, India, run as a fully remote team and established in 2026. We measure how leading AI models fail on real Malayalam tasks, build the licensed corpus and benchmarks to fix it, and deploy models that run on-premise. Araskova Studio, our custom software practice, funds the research. Research write-ups on this site are our own research notes on ongoing work — not published or peer-reviewed papers.

- [Malayalam evaluation benchmark](https://www.araskova.com/research/malayalam-llm-benchmark): 200 real-world Malayalam administrative queries, run internally in June 2026 against GPT-4o, Gemini 1.5 Pro, Claude 3 Opus and Llama 3 70B; about 73% of answers failed (code-switching, transliteration errors, semantic drift, invented terminology). Not yet publicly released; the methodology and dataset will be published with the corpus.
